How to use filters on reviewflowz?

This post is about how to use filters on the reviewflowz platform.

The filters are the same across all reports and on the review list.

You can save preset filters to load complex filters in a single click.

This post is about how to make the most of the filters available.

Filter by dates

Our date selector field can be divided into 5 different sections

  1. Pre-set date filters, such as last month, last year, etc.
  2. Date range selector. Click once to select the start date, and once again to select the end date.
  3. Month selector. Use the arrows on the left & right to change month selection.
  4. Year selector. Move back or forward across years quickly with this selector
  5. Text input. Manually write the date range you need following YYYY-MM-DD format. Hit Enter to apply the new date range.

Filter by keywords

Keyword search works by finding all reviews that contain the keywords you filter on.

If you add multiple keywords, the relationship between them is "OR". Meaning we'll return all reviews that contain any of the keywords from your list.

Everytime you add a keyword, they'll be added above the keyword search bar.

You can remove keywords by clicking the cross next to each keyword.

Filter by topics & subtopics

If you run a premium subscription, and have activated semantic analysis, reviewflowz's AI will have extracted 15 subtopics under 5 main topics from your review data.

These topics & subtopics are made available in the filters.

Note that a single review might have multiple topics so they're not exclusive filters. The reason for this is that the AI applies topics and subtopics to a review extract that speaks directly to it, and not necessarily to the whole review.

Filter by review profiles

You can select the exact review profiles you want to see reviews for.

This is a multi-select field so you can select multiple profiles.

It's also searchable, so you can search your review profiles by name or platform to find the profiles you want to filter on.

If you need to add new review profiles, you can click "+ New review source" on the top right corner.

If your subscription doesn't allow it, you'll need to purchase an extra review profile first.

Filter by product

Product is a default "custom dimension" you can add to your review profiles to group review profiles together.

For example, if you're tracking your own reviews and one of your competitors' you might want to look at your reviews across all platforms easily.

It won't appear in your filters by default until you've updated one of your review profiles with a product name.

To do that, go to one of your review profiles, and click the "Edit profile" button on the top right corner.

You can then edit the product's "Nickname" or "Product Name".

Update the Review Profile, and repeat the operation using the exact same product name for all profiles you want to group together.

Additional custom dimensions

Just like you can group review profile with a product name, we can also group them with custom dimensions that fit your business and use-case.

This is usually handled during the onboarding, and we can import dimension values in bulk if you're working with a large number of profiles.

Each custom dimension opens a new filter in your account, and the options visible depend on the profiles your user has access to.

Saving preset filters on your account

If you find yourself using complex filters on a regular basis, you can save them to a list of preset filters.

First, set your filters like you normally would. Then, click "Save filter"

You'll be able to name your filter. Use a descriptive name to easily identify the filter later on.

Hit Create filter, or select an existing filter you want to update.

To access your pre-saved filters, hit "Saved filters" and click any of your existing filters. They'll be applied automatically.

If you need to update them, update the filters directly, click "Save", and select "Update Existing Filter". Select the filter you want to update from the dropdown list.

Voilà! That's all there is to know about our advanced filtering system! If you have any questions, you can reach out at any point through the in-app chat bubble on the bottom left corner of your screen!
