Getting started with reviewflowz

First, you’ll need to create a reviewflowz account if you haven’t already. You can head to our signup page to create a free trial account.

Our free trial comes with up to 10 review listings and 10 automations. Should you feel limited by that, please let me know and I’ll be happy to extend your trial account capabilities

Once you’re in, you’ll need to decide what review listings you’d like us to keep an eye on for you.

Head over to New Review Profile, and look for your review listings. Our search is platform based so you’ll need to select a platform and search for your brand name, or whatever name you gave your listing on that platform.

Once your listing is ready, you should be able to confirm the overall ratings and rating counts

Note that we’ll also start monitoring your average rating daily from now on, that’s what the dark orange line is.

How to export Google reviews to Excel?

Whether you're performing an audit for a client, or just want to get a clear picture of what's being said about your business, exporting your google reviews is as easy as it sounds, even though Google doesn't exactly make it easy.

The easiest way is to use Reviewflowz's review exports at $0.01 per review.

Exports are almost instant, with an unlimited number of reviews.

The cheapest way is to use an SEO chrome extension called PhantomLocal. We've tested it. It's free and it works fine, although you're limited to 1000 reviews per listing, and it takes a while to scrape all reviews. And it does so on your browser, so you can't really do anything else while it's scraping, at the risk of having to restart.

Connecting Slack with reviewflowz

If you haven’t already, you’ll need to create a reviewflowz account and set up a review listing you’d like us to track. You can track up to ten review listings on the free trial. Here's a step by step guide

Now that we’re actively tracking at least one listing for you, we need a channel to send new reviews to. You can set that up by going to Integrations > Create a new channel or by following this link

Select “Slack” in the dropdown and click “Connect a Slack channel”

Select the Slack channel you’d like to send reviews to. If you’re logged into multiple workspaces, you can change Slack workspaces using the dropdown in the top right corner

Voilà! We’re in.

All that’s left now is to let us know what kind of notifications you’d like us to send. You can select the review listing(s) you want us to notify you for, and set a rating filter.

For example, if you’d like to receive only reviews with a rating of 3 / 5 or less.

Hit Save and activate, and we’ll send every review that matches your filters to your Slack channel.

How to get the exact date for google reviews? No GMB access required

If you have Google My Business, you can get the exact review dates easily from Google's review manager.

But if you don't, it's a little tricker. Google only shows "relative dates" on public review profiles – i.e. "3 days ago", "3 weeks ago", etc.

But there is a way to easily get the real review date, even without Google My Business access.

The easiest way to get exact review dates for Google Reviews when you don't have GMB access.

Some data providers work around that limitation with some convoluted calculations and approximations.

But it turns out Google actually does make the exact date and time of each review available. Just not in an easily accessible way.

| Long story short, Google actually makes the exact date and time of each review available, but it's a little technical to access it.

The good thing is we've figured out how to do exactly that.

So when you run a review export from Reviewflowz, you get a clean Excel export of all the Google reviews with their content, reviewer name, etc. *and *exact review dates, as stored by Google themselves.

How to get a Slack app approved?

How to add a new Slack app to your workspace?

By default, any member of a Slack workspace can install an app.

Once an app is installed, all members of the workspace can connect their accounts to use it.

However, workspace owners can turn on app approval to require admin approval for all apps.

Members can install any apps approved by a workspace owner and may be able to request approval for other apps.

I'm having issues adding an app, do I need to request approval?

If you've tried to connect to Slack from reviewflowz and been prompted to ask for approval, Slack has sent a request to your Slack admins.

You can find the Slack admins on your workspace by going to the "More" button on the left sidebar of your Slack desktop app, hovering Your organisation, and clicking "People"

You'll land on a directory of all the people active on your Slack workspace. You can filter by "account type".

You're looking for Owners and Admins.

Now you can chase them down and ask them who's effectively in charge of app approval. They'll be able to help out.
