How to collect custom testimonials using review forms

Review forms are a way for you to collect testimonials on your own.

No review platform, no ranking algorithm, no hardcoded forms.

You decide what to ask your customers, and you're free to do with the review content what you will.

Most clients use this to run NPS surveys, or to collect testimonials in cases where public review platforms don't work.

Basic design & form type

Head over to the review forms page, and create a new review form to get started.

Every new review form will automatically be tied to a new review profile.

If you've maxed out your subscription's review profiles, you'll need to add an extra profile to your subscription before you can create a new form.

When you create a new review profile, you'll land on a page that looks something like this.

The first thing to do is add a proper name to your form for your internal organization.

You can edit the name directly by clicking the "No Name" area on the top left corner. Change the name, and it'll be auto-saved.

You can also upload a logo to add it to the top left corner of the form page, and customize the form's colors to match your brand's.

If you open the "Rating page" dropdown, you'll be able to choose between three supported types of scores

  1. NPS – Net Promoter Score – An integer score between 0 and 10.
  2. Star rating – A simple one to five star rating system
  3. Thumbs up or down – A simple thumbs up or down rating system to collect basic feedback

Once you've started collecting answers, you won't be able to change your form type.

Feedback collection

The next step is the text feedback page.

Click the Feedback page panel to open the corresponding settings.

You can edit the page's title & subtitle to give context to your customers.

You can also decide to show this page only in some cases – for example based on the score given at the previous step.

That way, you only collect text feedback – and add friction to your post – when it makes sense.

Contact & Public Identity

The contact & public identity page is where reviewers can tell you more about who they are.

You can use this to collect a public-facing name & profile picture if you want to share the testimonials collected on your website & socials.

You can also allow your customers to privately let you – and you only – know who they are, so you can follow up with them, while keeping their testimonial anonymous for any others.

Just like for the feedback page, you can show this page optionally, based on a number of conditions – or decide to skip this page entirely.

Thank you and call to action

Final page!

This is where you thank your customers for taking the time to review your business, and where you can offer next steps – like reviewing you on a public platform.

Now that your customers have spent time and effort to put their thoughts about their experience in writing, it's a great time to ask for a public review.

To create a new action, click "New Action" on the bottom of the "Thank you page" section

Now this is where it gets a tad more complicated.

You can define what to ask based on the survey's results, as well as depending on the customer's information and on the URL parameters you used in the review form link.

This is a way to pass "context" information to your review form, so that it behaves differently for each of your customers.

It works very much like our magic links. In fact, review form links are magic links.

You can create many different call to actions.

Every time a customer lands on this page, Reviewflowz will select one, and show only that one to your customer.

You can edit the call to action text to give basic instructions and customize the button text as well.

And you can define as many conditions as you need to show this action only when relevant.

If you need advanced conditions, please feel free to reach out to us so we can help you configure things properly.

Test thoroughly, and you'll be able to go live!

Analytics

Review forms are tied to their own review profile, which means you can export, analyse, and read your reviews and reports just like you would from any other platform
