In a rush? Try our free google review link & QR code generator. It's free forever, no email required.

Google's g.page links don't work on iPhones. And iPhones represent 57% of mobile phones in the US (2024, source)

The easiest way to get a google review link is to head to your google my business page, and find your google g.page link and just share that.

To do that, search your brand on google, click "Get more reviews", and click "Ask for reviews".

Sounds simple enough right? And it's what many agencies and bloggers recommend online.

The problem is that these links don't work on most iPhones.

Most iPhone users haven't installed Google Maps.

Because why would they?

And if you click such a link from an iPhone without google maps installed, you'll be sent to the App Store to install it.

Considering Apple has the biggest market share in the US (c. 57% – source), you're basically leaving more than half the reviews you could be getting on the table.

The real solution

Now here's a surefire way to get reviews from both iPhone & Android users.

You can generate a custom link from Google's search platform instead of Google Maps.

The upside, is that google search works on browsers, and doesn't require an app on mobile devices like Google Maps does.

Here's what the link looks like

https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID

You can get your PLACE ID from the official Google Place ID Finder here.

Search for your business, and copy your PLACE ID.

EDIT: Google seems ot have discontinued support for their official Place ID Finder for reasons beyond common understanding. There are other place ID finders online. Search "Google Place ID Finder" and you'll find a few options.

Once you have it, you'll have a direct review link, that opens in any browser (Safari included).

If users are logged in, they'll be prompted to review your business directly.

If they're not logged in, they'll be prompted to log into a google account.

To avoid sharing links with URL parameters – that might be stripped by some privacy-focused browsers and / or plugins – we strongly recommend using link shorteners. Most link shorteners will also usually give some basic analytics, as well as the ability to generate QR codes.

The easiest solution

We've built a simple, free review link generator that takes care of all of those problems for you, and doesn't require any sort of contact info.

Head over to our free google review link generator, and search for your business.

The link and QR code will work without limit, for free, and forever.
