When a reservation is Complete in SevenRooms, or your team marks the party Left, Reviewflowz asks the guest for a review. The review that comes back is matched to its reservation and venue, and credited to the server named on the reservation.
How it works
A reservation is Complete in SevenRooms, or the party is marked Left.
Within the hour, Reviewflowz reads the reservation, its guest and the venue.
The request goes out after your delay.
The guest's review is matched to the reservation, the venue and the server.
What triggers a request
Trigger | When it fires | Who is asked |
A reservation is Complete, or the party is marked Left | The reservation turns Complete in SevenRooms, or your team marks the party Left | The guest on the reservation |
The trigger is on from the moment you connect and feeds one request, SevenRooms review requests.
When the venue or the guest is in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, the guest is asked by email, and only when their SevenRooms profile shows they opted in to your venue group's marketing. Everywhere else, every guest with an email or phone is asked.
We also import your last 90 days of reservations, so reviews you already have are matched to their visit and server. Nobody is messaged for those.
Connect SevenRooms
You need three things from SevenRooms: a Client ID, a Client Secret and your Venue Group ID. SevenRooms creates them and sends them to you.
Ask SevenRooms for your keys, in one of two ways:
Your SevenRooms account manager. Paste this:
Please send us SevenRooms API credentials (Client ID, Client Secret and our Venue Group ID) for Reviewflowz, with read access to reservations, clients and venues for all our venues.
SevenRooms' API request form at sevenrooms.com/partnership-opportunities. Add your contact details, then:
Are you a customer? Yes.
Select which best applies to you: I would like to integrate with a 3rd party.
Number of Venues and Venue Names: yours.
Which company would you like to integrate with? Reviewflowz.
Third party contact: Reviewflowz support, [email protected].
Company website: reviewflowz.com.
How you plan to use the API: "Read completed reservations, venues and guest marketing opt-ins so Reviewflowz can send review requests after each visit."
Tick the agreement box and submit. SevenRooms' Partnerships team reviews each request, then sends you your Venue Group ID, Client ID and Client Secret.
In Reviewflowz, open Integrations, go to Connect another integration and click the SevenRooms card. Fill in:
SevenRooms region: leave it on US (most venues) unless SevenRooms told you your venues are hosted on its EU servers.
Client ID, Client Secret and Venue Group ID, as SevenRooms sent them.
Click Connect SevenRooms. Your venues fill the Locations list, and a draft request is ready for you to finish.
Link your venues to locations
Under Locations, give each Venue in SevenRooms the Reviewflowz location whose review page its guests should see. Lantern Hall Group links its Midtown and Back Bay venues to their own locations. Reservations from a venue you haven't linked use the Fall back to location. With one venue, link it once and you're done. A venue missing? Click Refresh list.
Set up the request
Timing. A visit counts from the moment the party is marked Left, or from when the reservation turned Complete, and your delay comes on top. Lantern Hall emails 3 hours after the visit, then sends a reminder 3 days later with the subject "How was your evening at Lantern Hall, {{first_name}}?". Up to 3 messages, and follow-ups stop once a guest clicks, reviews or unsubscribes.
Channel. Email, SMS or WhatsApp, one per request.
Message. Lantern Hall's From name is "Lantern Hall", the Subject "Thanks for joining us, {{first_name}}", which Olivia Bennett reads as "Thanks for joining us, Olivia", and the Button text "Review your visit".
Direct reviews to. Smart routing gives one button and picks the site per guest. Show all options on the email lists every site instead.
Turn it on
Open SevenRooms review requests and click Turn requests on. The Syncing panel's Sending requests for visits completed since shows when you connected.
When a reservation is cancelled or a No Show
If a reservation is cancelled, marked No Show or deleted in SevenRooms before its request goes out, the request is withdrawn.
See what it brings back
A review is credited to the server named on the SevenRooms reservation, like this 5-star Tripadvisor review for Priya Nair at Lantern Hall Midtown. The Team Attribution Leaderboard under Reports > Dashboard ranks your servers by the reviews they earn.
The Requests page counts Contacts, Requests, Clicked CTA, Matched and Stopped. The CRM Integration widget tracks requests, links clicked and reviews matched from SevenRooms.
Good to know
The Syncing panel counts guests who can't be asked, such as a guest with no email or phone. They're still kept, so a review from that guest is matched by name.
If SevenRooms stops accepting your keys, the card turns red and asks for the Client ID and Client Secret SevenRooms sent you. Enter the new pair with Replace key. Your request and venue links stay as they are.
If the card says your keys can't read reservations or venues, ask your SevenRooms account manager to give your Client ID access to reservations, clients and venues. We check again every day and pick it up on our own.
A second SevenRooms venue group on the same account gets its own request, named after the group.
Disconnect stops the checks and withdraws every request that hasn't gone out.
