When an appointment is completed in Boulevard, Reviewflowz asks the client for a review on Google, Yelp or wherever you need it, and credits it to the staff who did the service. See the Boulevard integration.
How it works
An appointment is completed in Boulevard.
Boulevard tells us right away, and the client becomes a contact with their location, services and staff.
Your request goes out after your delay.
Their review is matched to the appointment and credited to every staff member on it.
What triggers a request
Boulevard event | When it fires | What comes across |
An appointment is completed | As soon as Boulevard sends it | The client's name, email and mobile phone, the location, the services, the staff on each, and the times |
We use completion, not checkout, on purpose: a client who pre-pays is checked out before they've been served. Cancelled appointments and no-shows never get a request. Only appointments completed after you connect count, since nothing from before is imported.
Connect Boulevard
Boulevard doesn't let you generate API credentials yourself. It issues them to us for your business, once you approve.
Contact us from the chat in Reviewflowz and tell us your Boulevard business. We ask Boulevard for access.
Approve when Boulevard asks you to confirm.
Connect. With the Business ID, API Key and API Secret Boulevard issues, open Integrations, then Automate review requests, click the Boulevard card, fill in Business ID, API Key and API Secret, and click Connect Boulevard.
We check the credentials with Boulevard first, and store nothing if they're rejected. Then we register one webhook for your whole business, so there's nothing to set up inside Boulevard. Completed appointments start arriving straight away.
Link your Boulevard locations
Under Linked locations, give each Boulevard location one of your locations, so its clients get a request for that salon's profiles. Marlowe West Loop and Marlowe Lincoln Park each point at their own Google page.
A location left Not linked, like Evanston here, still syncs, but its clients can't be sent a request unless you have an account-wide review profile. Opened a new location in Boulevard? Click Refresh location list.
Set up the request
Every completed appointment joins one request.
Timing. Marlowe texts clients an hour after the appointment, then follows up 3 days later. The delay can be anything from as soon as possible to 7 days, with up to 3 messages. Follow-ups stop once a client clicks, reviews or unsubscribes.
Channel. SMS works well, since Boulevard keeps each client's mobile phone. Email and WhatsApp are there too, one per request. A client without the right detail is skipped.
Message. Texts count to 160 characters, link included. For email, set the From name, subject, body and button text, with
{{first_name}}. Send myself a test before you go live.Direct reviews to. Smart routing sends one link and chooses the site per client, here as many Google reviews as possible and a set number on Yelp. Show all options on the email lists each site as its own button, on email only.
Turn it on
Click Turn requests on. An appointment that reaches us more than 7 days after it ended is recorded but never sent.
See what it brings back
The Requests page counts Contacts, Requests, Clicked CTA, Matched and Stopped. When Audrey Quill reviews her visit, the review is credited to Jasmine Holt, her stylist. The Team Attribution Leaderboard under Reports > Dashboard ranks your stylists by reviews, and the CRM Integration widget tracks requests, clicks and matches.
Good to know
If you use Boulevard's own Rating requests (Manage Location > Client Notifications > Rating request), turn them off so clients aren't asked twice.
Only the teammate who connected Boulevard can change its location links.
Nothing is written back to Boulevard. The webhook is all we add, and Disconnect turns it off while keeping your contacts and requests.
A location removed in Boulevard shows "No longer at Boulevard" next to its link.
